A commando entered the “El Texano” bar, opened fire on those present and left eleven dead and at least three wounded this Saturday night, in the December 12 district, south of the city of Irapuato, Guanajuato.
A group of men entered the business around 8:30 pm and opened fire on accompanying customers and business personnel. According to the preliminary report, six of the fatalities are men and five women.
The bar, also known as “El Pantano”, has access through Jamaica and Popotla streets; a woman was left lifeless at the door of Via Popotla. Three injured were transferred in code red to a Civil Protection ambulance.
Those responsible for the massacre fled. Elements of the National Guard and the Army erected a fence to protect the place, amid the clamor and crying of the relatives of the victims who arrived at the scene.
