The outlet also asked the authorities and the state governor, Cuitláhuac García, to carry out an in-depth investigation to find those responsible for this “cowardly act and that it does not go unpunished like many others.”

According to local media, Pedro Pablo was attacked while driving the taxi in which he also worked, a vehicle that hit a light pole after the attack, while those responsible fled.
Personnel from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP), the Civil Force and Federal Forces arrived at the scene, however, Pedro Pablo no longer had vital signs.
Mexico has registered 18 murders of journalists in 2022, making it the deadliest year for media workers, the international organization for the protection of communicators, Article 19, reported in a report at the end of October.
In the last three six-year terms, 260 journalists have been murdered, and 63 of these correspond to the so far in the presidency of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, which began on December 1, 2018.
