On the night of this Tuesday, November 1, a fire was recorded in a church located in San José Tulpetlac, Ecatepec, which caused the mobilization of emergency teams from the municipality of the State of Mexico, in an event in which there were no reports of injuries.
According to the authorities, the fire was registered around 10:00 p.m. in the church of San José in the town of Santa Maria Tulpetlac.
Elements of the Directorate of Civil Protection and Ecatepec Firefighters arrived at the scene, who managed to control the fire and then begin with the removal of debris.
“Our firefighters are working to remove debris from the fire at the San José church in Tulpetlac, reporting only material damage. Let’s avoid the area!”, reported Civil Protection and Firefighters of Ecatepec.
Among the damages suffered by the church is the collapse of the roof and the walls of the building, as the fire spread rapidly, although they were able to suffocate it early this Wednesday.
However, although the flames were successfully extinguished, there is now a risk of the church structure collapsing, so the authorities call on the inhabitants not to approach the place until the damage diagnosis is completed.
