The former special prosecutor for the Investigation of Crimes against Women, Sully Ponce Prieto, was executed tonight in the Monumental neighborhood.
A group attacked the woman when she was traveling in her vehicle on Avenida Del Charro and Paseo Triunfo de la República, leaving her lifeless.
The fact caused a strong mobilization of preventive agents and soldiers to search for those responsible, who escaped aboard two vehicles.
Ponce Prieto was left lifeless at the wheel of a Kia vehicle, in which a man was also traveling who, according to the first investigations, had just been released at the facilities of the State Attorney General’s Office, in Eje Vial Juan Gabriel, and the ex-Prosecutor had come to pick him up.
The FGE did not disclose the identity of the man who died along with the former prosecutor, nor did it specify whether he was the one traveling with her in the unit or one of the escorts.
A few blocks from the scene of the shooting, at the intersection of Melquiades Alanís and Avenida del Charro, authorities located a truck with weapons, which was secured.
