Government of Michoacán requests that the investigation into the grenades of September 15, 2008 in Morelia be reopened – .


The case of the grenades of the Cry of Independence of 2008 in Moreliawas never resolved, two days before the 14th anniversary of the attack carried out by Hitmen of the Michoacan Family to civilians during the Cry of Independence, the Government of the State of Michoacán formally requested the General Prosecutor of the Republic reopen the case thereby continue with the investigations.

The survivors and families of victims mortals of that attackare still fighting for the recognition of their rights.

The government in turn has indicated that it has made a commitment with them, mainly so that the truth of the attack that occurred in that September 15, 2008.

For its part, the State Executive Commission for Attention to Victims sent a letter addressed to the Attorney General of the Republic, Alejandro Gertz Maneroin which he requests that the investigations continue, since “this act of victimizing you that has hurt Michoacans so much cannot go down in history with impunity.”

In the letter, it is argued that the request for the case to be reopened is to request the intervention of the Judicial Police, collect testimonies from victims, and obtain more evidence to clarify the attack in Morelia.

The Government of the State emphasizes that it is committed to giving continuity before the jurisdictional instances in the search to know the truth of the events that occurred that night, to continue supporting those affected by these unfortunate events.
