Official reports have recorded an accident during this Monday morning, a passenger bus that was circulating on the highway towards Mexico City, at kilometer 56 witnessed the impact on the back of a trailer loaded with bananas.
As a result, at least 20 people were injured, four of them seriously, for which reason the emergency services of Federal Roads and Bridges (CAPUFE) arrived at the scene together with a group of paramedics who rescued the passengers through the windows and provided them with medical care.
Regarding the four people who were seriously injured, it was reported that they were transferred to the Ixtapaluca Specialty Hospital to receive medical attention.
Minutes later, a trailer that was traveling towards Mexico City overturned at kilometer 45.
Derived from the two mishaps, the highway was closed by elements of the National Guard section of roads at the height of Río Frío, which caused motorists who were driving through the site to be stranded.
Until now, the highway is still closed and road personnel are working to remove the damaged units.
