The criminal leader appeared this Friday for the first time before the Federal Court of the District of Columbiain Washingtonwhere he faces a charge of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute 5 or more kilos of cocaine and more than a thousand kilos of marijuana for importation into the United States.
“If found guilty, González Durán will face a minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison. A judge in a Federal District Court will determine any sentence, based on the United States Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors,” the US Department of Justice reported.
“The Office of the Division of the DEA in Houston is investigating (the case) with the assistance of the DEA Office in Mexico”.
The Department of Justice specified that this accusation, presented on May 9, 2013, was the fourth to be presented by a Grand Jury before a US Court.
