The Secretary of National Defense informs that on September 8 of this year, personnel from the Mexican Army and the Municipal Police of Tijuana, BC, within the framework of the National Strategy for Public Security and the Zero Impunity policy of the federal government, carried out a seizure of 634 kilograms of possible methamphetamine.
Through intelligence work, inter-institutional coordination and operational planning, information was obtained that members of a criminal group with a presence in the state of Baja California, were coordinating a transfer of drugs by land, using a white panel-type vehicle from from the south of that state to Tijuana, BC; With said personal information from the Mexican Army and the Municipal Police, they directed their ground reconnaissance and surveillance patrols over the south of the Mpio.
Derived from the joint activities, it was located on Zafiro street, El Pedregal neighborhood, Mpio. of Tijuana, BC, a vehicle with the characteristics described above confirming the information provided, for which a security perimeter was established to protect the place, when carrying out a review of said vehicle, 552 plastic containers and 13 transparent bags were located, the which contained inside a total of 634 kilograms of possible methamphetamine (crystal), proceeding to the seizure of the drug and the car.
The insured was made available to the competent authorities, who will carry out the expert confirmation of the type and amount of drug.
These activities were carried out in strict adherence to the rule of law, thereby preventing this type of addictive substance from reaching Mexican youth and affecting their comprehensive development.
With these actions, the Mexican Army and Air Force and the Municipal Police endorse their commitment to ensure and safeguard the well-being of citizens, contributing to the Mexican government to guarantee peace and security for the population.
