A spectacular car accident that occurred in the La Pradera neighborhood, Gustavo A. Madero mayor’s office, left one person dead and four more injured.
According to the first reports, the driver of a sedan-type vehicle lost control of the steering wheel when he was driving on Volcán Popocatépetl street and climbed onto the sidewalk, almost on the corner with Volcán Ajusco.
The dark gray Volkswagen Jetta type car ran over several diners who were at the scene, and damaged the facade of a taqueria and a bakery located on that corner.
Witnesses stated that the vehicle was recklessly driven from back streets. Relatives of some of those affected arrived at the scene in anguish after learning what had happened.
