José Silvestre Urzua Padilla, coordinator of the National Guard in the state of Zacatecas, was killed during an armed attack in the municipality of Pinos; For this reason, Governor David Monreal Ávila regretted his death and issued instructions to report what happened as soon as possible.
“Those of us who make up the State Peacebuilding Table report with regret the death of General José Silvestre Urzúa Padilla, coordinator of the National Guard in the state. We send our condolences to his family and loved ones, ”the state president reported.
After this new episode of violence in MexicoMonreal Ávila warned that his government will not rest in its fight to pacify the state and deal with crime, a desire —he said— to which the general gave his life.
The GN explained that General José Silvestre Urzua Padilla died in the line of duty, while participating in a joint operation against organized crime.
“We express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Commissioner Urzúa Padilla, whom we will remember as an exemplary commander, who gave his life to protect citizens,” he said in a statement.
