Riot in the Culiacán prison



The balance of a riot registered in Aguaruto in Culiacán, Sinaloa, one person injured and two deceased inmates was the balance of a riot registered on the afternoon of this Monday, November 21.

According to the first data, the events were recorded around 3:00 p.m. at the Center for the Execution of the Legal Consequences of Crime, where an inmate who wanted to be transferred from one module to another stripped one of the custodians of his weapon and attacked other inmates in the module

One of the inmates who lost their lives was identified as Isaías, who had been arrested last Thursday, November 3, at the Bachimeto union, in the municipality of Navolato, for alleged possession of weapons.

The 38-year-old inmate had a criminal record for the crime of homicide and on the day of his arrest, he allegedly carried a backpack with presumed fentanyl, as well as a long and a short weapon in a backpack.

The second victim was identified with the nickname “El Panda”, who was accused of murdering two inmates in module 8 of said prison, where he was admitted for allegedly kidnapping a patient from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). .

The Secretary of Public Security of Sinaloa, Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo, reported that the person responsible for the double homicide has been identified, and mentioned that the inmate’s justification was that “his colleagues were attacking him.”

Regarding the inmate who was injured, he explained that he has a leg injury that does not put his life at risk and that he was re-admitted to the prison. The guards of the Aguaruto prison activated the panic button, to request the support of the elements of Public Security, at approximately three in the afternoon on Monday.
