Elements of the Mexican Army, secured in Nueva Ciudad Guerrero, Tamaulipas, two vehicles, locating inside weapons, chargers, cartridges and possible marijuana.
The Secretary of National Defense (SEDENA) reported that last Friday, September 23, 2022, derived from intelligence work to strengthen the rule of law in the country and detect criminal organizations with a presence in said entity, Mexican Army personnel obtained information that imembers of organized crime They carry out illicit activities in said municipality, using stolen vehicles as arms and drug depots, which are transferred to the outskirts of the towns, to avoid being identified as their owners.
Due to the above and derived from operational planning, military personnel increased their ground reconnaissance in the vicinity of the populated “The Gonzalena”, of said municipality, achieving locate on a dirt road, hidden between bushes, two irregularly parked vehicles with open doors.
The military personnel established a security perimeter to protect the area and carried out the review of the aforementioned vehicles, ensuring the following:
- 37,850 cartridges of various calibers.
- 26 Chargers of different calibers.
- 8 Long weapons.
- 3 Packages and a bag containing marijuana.
- 2 Vehicles reported stolen.
What was seized was made available to the competent authorities, in order to carry out the expert actions that allow confirming the quantity and type of drug; as well as the characteristics of the weapons, chargers and insured cartridges.
“These activities were carried out in strict adherence to the rule of law, thus preventing this type of addictive substances and weapons from reaching Mexican youth and affecting their comprehensive development.”
Finally, SEDENA stressed that with these actions, the Mexican Army endorses its commitment to ensure and safeguard the well-being of citizens, contributing to the Government of Mexico to guarantee peace and security for the population.
