During the early hours of this Saturday, a serious accident was reported on the Siglo XXI Highway, in which two people died and one was injured.
The spectacular mishap was recorded around 01:10 hours, in the vicinity of kilometer 148 + 400, of the Santa Casilda – Nueva Italia highway section. A yellow Kenworth tractor with a double trailer and plates 26AK5C collided with a gray Volkswagen Jetta car with plates GXA-132-D.
The National Guard of the Highway Safety Division arrived at the scene, as well as paramedics from Rescate Uruapan, who found the occupants of the Jetta, trapped in their unit and when helping them, confirmed that two had perished, while a survivor identified as Maximino G., was rushed to a hospital in Uruapan.
The National Guards flagged the area and later members of the State Attorney General’s Office undertook the corresponding proceedings, the whereabouts of the trailer driver being unknown, as well as the identity of the deceased.
