In compliance with the National Strategy for Citizen Security and the Zero Impunity policy of the federal government, in Chiapas, members of the National Guard (GN) detained a passenger at the “Angel Albino Corzo” Airport, in possession of more than 30,000 dollars Americans, equivalent to about 600,000 pesos, not declared before the treasury authority.
In the passenger inspection area, an X-ray machine detected the presence of several packages inside a suitcase, apparently with tickets, for which the owner was asked to allow a second manual inspection. National Guard personnel reviewed the traveler’s luggage and found that he was carrying several packages of foreign currency that he had not declared and of which they did not prove his legal origin.
