In the municipality of Jerez, Zacatecas, there were multiple shootings where three people died.
Francisco Murillo Ruiseco, state attorney, mentioned that the multiple shots were clashes between criminal groups.
“What is happening is a very strong dispute over the territory, over the physical space of these criminal groups… I am referring to the Pacific Cartel or Sinaloa Cartel and the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel,” he said.
After the shootings, three people died, while the fire in a house was also reported.
The Jerez City Council requested support from the Government of Zacatecas and the Federal Government by sending soldiers and national guards to reinforce security.
Mayor Humberto Salazar Contreras reported the suspension of the activities of the Tambora Festival.
